The shadows behind the golden bloom stretch long and soft across the floor, flickering with candlelight—and then, as though the stars themselves had drawn breath, the air shifts. From a hush of starlight and the scent of jasmine and moon-slicked orchids, Safrin appears. She does not descend or emerge so much as arrive; already there, between one heartbeat and the next, wrapped in shadow and splendour. Her gown ripples with galaxies caught in motion, and her eyes gleam like twin moons, dark and endless and watching.
The goddess says nothing at first. She moves with languid grace, trailing her fingers over the golden lily, her smile blooming as warmly as the flower’s own gleam. Then her gaze slips to the ring—plain, in comparison, but lovingly placed—and finally, to the woman who brought them.
Safrin turns toward Lyra. "You’re quite lovely," she says gently, like a secret shared with the stars, and there’s amusement in her tone as she tilts her head. "And nervous, too. That’s sweet, but there's no need." Her smile curves like a crescent moon as she lifts the ring between two fingers, inspecting it.
"I would be happy to help you," Safrin says, her tone as light as the moon on still water. She leans in just enough for the shadows to kiss Lyra’s cheek, then whispers what the girl must do, her voice all stardust and silver silk, wrapping around the request like a veil of dusk.
Lyra has been given a quest! She must
1. Use the ring to heal someone
2. Heal someone with non-magical means
3. Collect Efas Herb from the Labyrinth and wrap the ring in it
4. Leave the ring out beneath the full moon all night
