So the flames unfurled from both, consuming the bizarre frame of the cockatrice body until it ceased to exist, save for a few bones nestled upon the ground.
And that likely would’ve been the end of that – had there not been a high-pitched scream in the distance. Immediately on the alert, he gave a long exhale, before already beginning to take long strides in that direction. “Might have found the other one,” or at least, what the stories had offered about multiple beasts in the area.
