Scooping muck to clear your head only works if everything cooperates. Her shovel cuts through enough bulk of it, but it all seems to slop back in shortly thereafter, and it's beginning to feel a touch like baling water from a sinking ship. She grunts as she slides the tool into the effort again and again, hauling the quickly filling bucket to empty it somewhere better than the walkways, again and again.
Some of the road does clear, but the corners are a bitch, the mud there high and dense and all her carving seeming to do little to it. Not worn through enough to be tired yet, the physical work does at least spend some of the frustration out, but giving as much as it takes she finds herself still on an edge. So, when the next scoop unleashes a wriggling little shithead of a hopper, she doesn't stop to admire it one bit. Immediately she takes her shovel and swings with all the force she can muster to detonate its muddy brains against the metal tool. Not bothering to see if it annihilated it, she swings again, and again, and again, until it or her mood is buried.
