Oh, darling, if I ever cross your mind
“Ohhhh, right. So I should’ve been a florist?” He muses around the cloud of smoke and the charming grin – handing the cigarette over toward her when he’s relaxing against the banister. “Or an apothecary. Dad prolly would’ve liked that one a helluva lot better.” His nose wrinkles as he thinks about it, head cocking slightly, letting the dangling jewelry from his ear dance with the movement.
Looking back at her when she tells him it sounds so much worse, he swats at her playfully. “Oy, I’m good at that! Easiest part’ve my job.” He sticks his tongue out at her playfully, before taking the cigarette back to drag on it – the smoke curling around his face and settling in as he listens to her plans.
“Oooh, make one all red ‘n white like a candy cane.” He suggests, latching onto the idea as they continue talking about their plans, what she might do for the floats and the unicorns in question. It’s an easy way to pass the time and loosen her nerves, hopefully, content to gossip the rest of the day away.
