"Suit yourself," Mateo trills, slipping one of the parcels - the one containing little jewels of snapdragon, but of course now Colt will never know - back into his bodice and offering out the other for her to take. Doing so has him stepping automatically a few feet more into the alleyway, handing over the drugs and accepting the payment in a subtle, quick flick of his wrist that suggests he's done this sort of thing in much more crowded places in the past.
"Good to know. And with this, it is a powder. Most people I know dissolve it in water and take it that way. A few like to rub it on their gums or snort it, but it is not my favourite method." He gestures to the little packet now in her possession. "There is enough for a good three doses in there, so be careful not to go overboard."
As for the egg, he raises his eyebrows and tilts his head towards it, before scoffing and shaking his head. "I can see why you might think so, but no," he says. "Take it - maybe it is lucky for you."
Mateo tells Colt she can have the egg.
