NIKI
Darkness has already fallen by the time Niki gets himself home from the Sidhe Village, and the bottom floor of the old funeral parlour soon lights up warmly from within. The fire crackles in the living room, the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafts in from the kitchen and, for Niki's part, he'd headed straight for the shower after those two immediate needs had been met (those being warmth and caffeine).
Sloughing away the caked-on mud from his earlier tumble in the woods, by the time he emerges in clean clothes and with his dark hair a soft, damp mess around his face, coffee alone isn't going to cut it any longer. It's as he steps into the kitchen to prepare himself something to eat that he hears the first lashings of rain against his windows.
Turning to blink out into the endless black, he can't help the sigh that escapes him; relief and contentment combined, that he'd made it home before the rain and that he can now listen to it in peace for the evening. With a small smile on his face, the necromancer puts a pot on the stove and sets about chopping a few root vegetables and herbs, intending, apparently, on making a soup.
