Melita was well versed in ruining things; and to have something she wanted to save rather than obliterate made her gnaw inwardly – mostly irritated with herself. She’d done more self-reflection in the past few months than the entirety of her life, and even that annoyed her. Compounding vexation and indignation on her own mannerisms was quite a skill, and she knew she’d have to work it out on her own; just in a mulish sort of temper. Maybe she’d set something on fire and make herself feel better.

Next times meant both of them hadn’t fucked up too badly though – and perhaps the wound was really starker in her own mind – furthering her defiant little grin and edging her jawline closer to the sky, emulating some royalty with her quiet miff. Juggling the containers and her robe, she pretended not to be affected by the notion of him being gone for a while – hesitating to make a wood joke to waylay other fractious feelings. “Um, that sounds awful,” she went for instead, wrinkling her nose; not one to avoid hard labor but mostly because it echoed on the tedious and boring side of things. She’d be much more tempted to up-end scaffolding or something just to look for a distraction.

Partially inclined to start running while he mulled things over, she nodded her head instead, then tilted it, pondering over what would be best to accompany a Sunjata visit. “Bread and wine’s probably good, but I’ll ask him.” Then the chase was on anyway, and after being shoved to the side, she let out a great gasp, pretending to be appalled by his behavior, but rampaging and stomping thereafter, fully intending to beat him out towards the water.
