Marcus hadn't ever spent much time in King's End, but when he arrived on an errand for Halo and saw the notice for help, the Olson blood in him couldn't help but show up to the ranch. Generally amiable in his demeanor, today wasn't any different for the young Halovian. He strode right up to the ranchers, and immediately stuck his hand out. "Marcus Olson," he introduced himself, a small smile emphasizing the kind spark in his cerulean eyes. Once he shook hands with the strangers, one of them he assumed was the owner of the ranch but he couldn't tell which one it was, he used the back of his arm to wipe his forehead. Being from HAlo he wasn't used to much heat, let alone this oppressive heat that made his pants cling to his thighs even before the height of the day.
Turning, Marcus followed the gesture towards the horses. Having grown up using Vi'dore as a mount, and having just gathered luxere on the tundra, he wasn't afraid of time in the saddle nor of riding in general. He took a moment to inspect each of them. He wasn't scientific about it, and the one that caught his attention reminded him of Deimos' companion. The paint shared the same expression as the roaned unicorn, and for some reason that drew Marcus in.
