His lips quirked up. "I can imagine." He hadn't been camping during his own travels, but he still knows what it's like to miss a home cooked meal, and having to put up with his own cooking for months would be more than hellish torture. By the end, he was craving Erika's cooking and the other chefs of Stormbreak. It makes him wonder what it would be like to live in a new place, to know he won't be able to come back for his comfort foods.

Stepping into the kitchen, he props his hands against the counter, turning serious at the apologies he hadn't meant to elicit. His head shakes, exhausted with hearing and expressing remorse for one thing or another. "Nuh uh. No apologies. You're here now and that's all that matters." All the 'sorrys' in the worlds wouldn't change the past, and it wouldn't change how he feels about his friend.

Zavien leaves no room for argument, breezing past to find a bottle of water amidst the stores.

His eyes find Koa's again when he leans against the counter, face carefully neutral so he can support his friend without his own biases swaying him. It's not as hard as he'd expect when the plans - or lack thereof - are laid out. As long as Koa doesn't disappear into the woods again, Zavien can handle it. Who knows, they might end up settling in the same region again.

Nodding his head, he offers a sympathetic smile. "Agreed. It's hard to think about where to go after when nothing will compare to Stormbreak..." Last time, it'd been easy to figure out, just going where the people were, the place he was needed. But that'd been temporary, and he'd had purpose. Now... he isn't so sure, and he can't afford to linger on that, or he might miss something his citizens need.

Letting Koa shift the conversation back to the safety of food and humor, Zavien nods to one side of the kitchen with an amused smirk. "I think there's a pan of burgers and hotdogs in the fridge. I'll grab the buns and condiments if you want to pull them out."
It is not a bad thing
to celebrate a simple life.
