What they're after, as Jack had clarified in his letter to both Sunjata and Melita, is a banshee. For killing purposes, specifically. Jack hadn't sugarcoated it - when does he ever - when it comes to the apparent aggression of the rag-clad creature or the danger in engaging with her, but with a demigod at both his left and right hand, what could go wrong?

"You ever seen one of these before?" he asks, voice low as they get closer to the Cataract, the Captain sticking to the shade of the trees and keeping his eyes sharp for any movement. From his pocket he takes a wodge of cotton, pulling a few smaller pieces from it before offering it to the others. "In case it tries to make your eardrums fuckin' bleed," he explains. "Oh - an' if this goes tits up and I die, there's a feather in my coat pocket. Be a dear an' use it on me, would you?"
This thread will fulfill the following quest requirement:
- Kill a mirage crab or a banshee (initiate a KQ)
Jack brings himself and everything on his profile (except Seven), and he's also brought some cotton to plug their ears in the hope that the banshee won't be able to scream them to death as much. He tells Sunjata and Melita about his revivify feather in case shit goes sideways.
