Remi snickers, feigning a flinch as Ronin’s hand swats at him, though it does nothing to dull the grin already carving its way across his face. "Oh sure," he drawls, stretching lazily in the flowers, "I can’t wait to see Sunjata showing up to investigate who’s raised a flag and claimed part of his land, only to find us here."
He shifts, rolling more comfortably onto his back, one arm tucked behind his head as he gazes up at the sky, the light bright enough to turn his lashes gold. A quiet sigh leaves him, his gaze wandering before it slips sidelong, catching on Ronin again. "I don’t hate people," he corrects mildly, though the phrasing is clearly up for debate. "I just don’t like being bothered by them." Another shrug. "So yes, probably better if you go."
The meadow settles around them again, warm and humming, the kind of stillness that begs reflection. After a pause, Remi swallows and speaks again, softer this time, something nervous and boyish threading beneath the words. "What do you think about Alora for a girl?" He’s still watching the sky as he says it, voice casual, but not quite light. "Or maybe Carlo, if it’s a boy?" There’s a flicker of pre-emptive bracing in his tone, like he already knows he’s going to be scolded for the travelling tongue lilt of them, but he turns his face toward Ronin anyway, eyes curious, hopeful, a little shy.
