Jack has just enough time to feel shame curl in his gut at missing again in a fight that, arguably, is nowhere near as terrifyingly difficult as it had been beneath Starfall, before suddenly the banshee is right in his face. And this time - this time the Captain gets what a lot of people would say is coming to him.
His curse chokes into nothing before it fully makes it past his lips, chin forced up by her skeletal fingers squeezing around his trachea. But it's the cold necrosis of whatever power fuels her that drags at him, and he goes momentarily limp in her grip, vision fogging at the edges.
Unable to offer any clever quips (shame) or cries for help (as if), Jack's hand lifts towards the banshee and he drags his senses back into some sort of an order. Vaguely he becomes aware of rain beginning to fall, but his focus remains on the creature as he summons a spear of ice, hoping to shoot it right through her middle and get her the fuck away from him.
