Sunjata ’s magic takes hold immediately with water pouring from nothing, saturating bark, stone, and root alike as the air thickens with cold mist. The rain heals where it touches Jack, warmth pushing back against the necrotic chill in his throat and chest, breath forcing its way back into his lungs as the banshee’s grip weakens. At the same time, the same rain scalds the banshee’s form, biting into her incorporeal body with quiet, relentless damage that makes her shriek and recoil.
Her hold loosens as Melita ’s arrow lands cleanly through the rain. The banshee's scream fractures into something hoarse and broken, the sound no longer clean fury but ragged persistence.
Jack ’s ice spear forms and launches, and slices through empty space. The banshee twists aside just enough for it to miss, the spear shattering uselessly against a tree trunk beyond her. She lunges again for him anyway. Skeletal fingers snap forward in another strangling grab, and close on nothing. Jack’s movement carries him just out of reach as the banshee overshoots, her momentum dragging her past him once more.
