It’s an easy trap to fall into, and one that Lyra has found herself in more than once - not only in her work, but in her personal life. Wanting to be the perfect parental figure for her children is a dream that has not quite died, despite knowing full well that it’s a pipe dream at best. ”Yes,” Lyra says in response to Noah’s question. ”I’ve actually never quested for any of the gods before now.” She’d never really had the time before, nor the inclination to focus on herself and her own wants over those of her family. It had seemed selfish and unnecessary at the time - and besides that, there had been a niggling doubt in the back of her mind that a god would actually take the time to answer her. That Safrin had was something that had bought her steadfast loyalty. ”But Safrin answered when I prayed, and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity.”
