Not that he puts a great deal of weight into superstitions, but living in the Greatwood and possessing a penchant for necromancy, he doesn't dismiss them entirely either.

Nodding - he's heard that quite a few of Caido's demigods these days were not originally from here, though it has been long enough, he thinks, that the regions have claimed them completely as their own - his head tilts a fraction to the side to hear the mention of his father.

The hesitation is more out of realisation that said husband must not be in the picture for him to have recently parted ways with his fiance, but Niki can't help to catch on it nevertheless.
