It wasn’t what he was expecting the first time he’d heard it, and even still it takes him a few moments to register that people are talking about him, having grown so used to The Flood for so many years prior. Iskra’s comment about the irony, though, does spark a soft laugh to leave him, one that ends in a sigh as he shrugs lightly. “Funny how that works out.” He mutters before he silences himself by nibbling on his own crab Rangoon.
Each question has the same answer, though – whether to quest for a new one and what to do next, but at least there’s some vindication in the fact him calling off the wedding wasn’t something that he’d overreacted with. He’d been right when he’d said he needed time. “Well, yeah. I think I have to go back to Frey and ask for a new one or to fix this.” He gestures to himself, before he shakes his head – the dangling feather earrings in his second lobes dances with the movement.
“So anyway, sorry for ruining the mood. That’s the update so far.. How’re you guys doing?” He asks, clumsily switching subjects now that the bomb is off his chest. He sips from his cocktail as if it might do something for him, lifting his steel gaze from the plate of food to his niece and Iskra.
