Anani floated closer, chiming a soft, affectionate sound that was clearly grateful for the warm welcome. Soh smiled softly at her new companion, who finally came to rest around her shoulders, offering a cat-like purr as she rubbed her head gently upon Soh's cheek. She accepted her piece of jerky daintily, and was seemingly content as the humans took in the rest of the island.
There wasn't much to it, really: the Tower in the center, surrounded by remnants and rubble from the city they'd once loved so much. Soh felt a pang of grief as she looked around, but shoved it aside. "No - I think I'd like to go now. It just feels..." She trailed off, for once at a loss for words. Then, more softly, she said, "It's just empty." And lifeless, and sad. "Thank you for coming with me."
They made their way back to the dinghy they'd used to navigate the treacherous waters surrounding the remains of Stormbreak, and that was it. Their investigation - for now - was over, and it was time to take Anani home.
