Here and there a faded hue of green or the ashen remains of a tree served a stark reminder that even in her quiet paradise life went on, neither set apart nor immune to trouble or tragedy. Stormbreak may be half a world away, but the fall of that great city would surely send ripples through the rest of Caido one way or another.
Listening to Liam's musings, the youthful seeming ancient rolled the glass between her palms, then reclined back again, settling against his chest with a contented hum. "Mmh. Well.
