Lyra watches as the young woman jumps and spins, but rather than surprise on her pretty face, there is only a brilliant, blinding smile that immediately calls an answering one to Lyra's face. "Oh, really?" she says, gaze falling to admire the skirt and its adorable bumblebees. "That's impressive. I'm afraid I'm not much of a seamstress, but I'd love to be able to make something like that." It's even better when the stranger twirls in place, the skirt flaring around her legs and really showing off the decoration.

The name Nova is not a familiar one, but Lyra already likes the young woman simply because she's so friendly - even if the mother in her is concerned that she might be too friendly for her own good. "I'm Lyra," she says. "It's nice to meet you. Do you make a lot of your own clothes?"

A breeze gusts through, pulling more smoke and haze with it, and Lyra bats uselessly at the air around her face as though to disperse it. "Gods, this smoke is terrible," she complains. But at least there's no fire that she can see. "I wonder if it's been like this all season? Gods bless the Greatwood's residents."
