Mel, queen of weekday underpants, has its own ring to it, and he snickers under his breath at the regal way she holds herself with some version of the title. The sound cuts off sharply as the threat in her stare finds him, and he adjusts his gaze to the side of the room innocently, actively avoiding looking at her in case it should really undo him. ”Saturday is the best day,” Iskra counters, rising to grab another bite or two of food and refill his drink. ”Friday is a close second. Wednesday however, I’ll still assert is the start of things getting good. Not the chosen one, but the first bit of hope.”

Settling back down to munch and consider, wholly less bothered by the issues of demigod status compared to the two of them, his attention flicks back and forth. ”Well, if he didn’t retire, maybe with The Family gone, there’s just less need?” Iskra shrugs, like the idea seems sensible. Gods grant them an extra boon to serve as a tool more than anything, but if the job is done, the tools need not remain, especially not if you’ve got two or more already in the shed. ”Doubt the gods would keep you if you wanted to retire,” he considers though, because nothing worse than a tool that fights back or isn’t good for the job at hand. ”Bet getting whipped around with channels all the time gets tiring after so long.”
