knowing I can't turn the rain into sun any more
Their dancing left them both breathless, although Soh managed to keep herself mostly upright thanks to a decided lack of alcohol in her system. When she made for Wildering House, it took her a moment to realize that Colt wasn't right behind her, and she looked back to see the woman turning her face up to the rain, holding her arms out as though allowing the storm to wash her clean. Something softened in Soh's gaze. She wasn't sure what had happened, but this, at least, was an indication that it wouldn't break her friend, that there was still something in her clinging to life and living.
Colt's reaction to Wildering House just about summed up how everyone felt when entering for the first time. Making a mental note to clean up their mess later, Soh nodded. "Oh, yeah, there's fine," she said as Colt deposited her belongings unceremoniously by the door. The rancher's clothes joined shortly thereafter, leaving a bemused Soh looking at her wondering how they always managed to end up half-naked around each other.
"Here, this way," Soh said, leading the way down the hall. "Do you want to borrow some dry clothes? I think we're about the same size." Hardly waiting for an answer, Soh ducked into her room, pulling Colt along. She left the rancher standing in the middle of her room as she rummaged through the closet, pulling out some clothes that she thought might work before returning to Colt and shoving them into the woman's arms. Then it was back to the closet, where she changed her own soaking clothes and pulled on some comfortable pajama pants and a tank top.
With that taken care of, Soh padded back across the room to the door. "The good tequila is in the kitchen. I think the house spirits keep it stocked for me." Tequila was, after all, her liquor of choice - though she did prefer it mixed rather than straight from the bottle, most of the time.
