"Peanut butter!" she cried, hiding her face beneath her arm again as though in shame. "I should've guessed!" Now that their game was concluded, Soh shifted her arm off her face and gazed over at Zavien. Even though it had just been a silly game about their favorite foods, Soh felt like she knew him far better now than she had before. Would it always been like this, she wondered? Learning new things about one another, lighthearted flirtations, easy laughter?
"That was a lot of -" she started, but a sudden shriek interrupted her, the noise sounding a bit like an angry cat, but with an edge that Soh couldn't quite place. She sat straight up, suddenly uneasy. "Did you hear that?"
The breeze gusted by, blowing a cloud over the sun, and Soh was suddenly cold. Shivering, she looked around. There were no further noises - until she partially shifted, using her tide jaguar form to improve her hearing. Then she heard a shuffling noise - and it sounded like it was coming from below them. "Uhhhhh, quick question," she commented with a nervous laugh. "Do you believe in ghosts?"
