Danta catches every gruff moan against his lips, every bloodstained flick of Asta's tongue, every prick of his teeth whether or not they break the skin, and the butcher isn't the only one convinced he's seeing stars as the flush of bliss starts to fade, leaving the frantic beat of his heart in its wake. The Maverick doesn't draw back though - he kisses Asta until the world starts to spin, until his awareness is reduced to the soft heat of the other man's mouth and the screaming ache of his muscles.
Only then does he let them breathe, Danta panting hard into the fraction of space between them and letting his head tip forward to rest against Asta's shoulder. His fingers glide gently down over the other man's upper back, tracing scar tissue and walking their way down the length of his spine, and the sigh that escapes him shudders out in an exhausted laugh.
"I hope you don't mind sleeping like this," he whispers, "because I don't think I can let you go."
