"Good," Danta whispers, the words framed by a weary smile, and he shifts to get more comfortable astride the butcher just as he releases his glamour, his tail coiling about him like something protective. The Maverick's arms close around his lover in response to hold him close, content to exist in this strange bubble of time where it's just the soft sound of their breath and the flicker of flames and the endless dark outside.
Further words form on his lips but Danta lets them go, opting not to ruin the perfect flush of emotion he feels by trying to clumsily put a name to it. Instead he leans in to kiss Asta's throat, soft and slow, his body melting forward against the other man until he's the only thing keeping them both upright.
"You're so fucking perfect," he mumbles eventually, his voice barely even a whisper now, his eyes heavy, and it won't be long before sleep takes him entirely.
