Soh would tell him anything. One day, she was sure, she would tell him everything, would reveal all of the past hurts and insecurities that had shaped her into the person she was now. She wondered if he knew how much it cost her to share even these vague notions with him - or how he managed to embolden her every time she took a chance. This was what she hadn’t been eloquent enough to put into words: the easy way he cast aside her doubts, pulling her into his easy charm and quiet support, offering her a safe haven where she had previously had none.
If she hadn’t been falling already, she would be now. Was it obvious in her eyes when she smiled, in the sound of the soft laugh at his teasing, in the tender way she squeezed his hand? ”Good,” she said simply. She’d do everything in her power to make their relationship everything that they both wanted and needed - so that hopefully he would never have to let her go.
Turning her attention to her next question, she wrinkled her nose. ”Mm, one. The only other thing I wanted to ask… well, it’s definitely not a complaint on my end, but we did do things a little backwards,” she said, smiling sheepishly. She would have anticipated going on at least one date before sleeping together, after all. ”And it doesn’t bother me at all, but I guess I just wanted to know where that leaves us - physically, I mean.” A faint blush crept into her cheeks. ”Are we just… going with the flow, or do you want to slow things down, or…? I just want to make sure you’re comfortable,” she added. ”Because I’m not going anywhere either way.”
