Silence with Zavien was never uncomfortable or awkward; Soh was content to sit and watch him, admiring the sharp lines of his jaw or the sage green of his eyes without feeling pressured to fill the silence with anything in particular. Her silver gaze flickered over his features, and she swallowed when his attention dipped to her lips. Maybe they could forget about the game for now; there were other things that she would certainly not complain about doing instead.
But for some unknown reason, Soh just had to open her mouth and ask how they should start, and Zavien seemed to come out of the trance they’d been in. As he began to search for the deck of cards, Soh considered. She wanted to kiss him - and why shouldn’t she? They were together, and it would hardly be the first time they’d kissed. So why was it up to him to make the first move?
”Actually…” she murmured, reaching boldly out to run her fingertips along his arm. ”… I think that golf could wait a moment.”
