Soh snuggled closer, tucking herself against Zavien’s chest. ”I don’t either,” she said. ”Just know that I’ll do everything in my power to keep this. To stay with you.” There were promises she couldn’t bring herself to make, if she might not be able to keep them; Caido was harsh and dangerous, and she knew all too well that there were things that could happen to her. But anything in her power? That she could and did promise freely. ”I’m not going anywhere. I’m yours, Zavien.”
