Remi's reassurances gave Soh some small sense of relief; given that the twins had been very much wanted and planned, she supposed that Remi and Ronin had to have had some expectation that things would be like this. Still, as tiny cries rose from the houseboat, Soh couldn't help but feel as though she were intruding.

Soh handed over the basket. Remi stepped out, closing the door softly behind him. The babies' cries were subsequently muffled, but still very much audible, and Soh found herself wanting to offer assistance in spite of the fact that she knew next to nothing about how to soothe an infant. At Remi's quiet thanks, she turned her attention back to his tired face and offered what she hoped was an encouraging smile. "It's the least I could do," she said softly, as though her voice might carry through the door and to wherever the twins were currently crying. "After you helped me say goodbye to Tarak."

She paused, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. "While I have you," she ventured hesitantly. "Flora had mentioned you might be able to help me with a quest. I need to find kraken ink - but I can totally find some elsewhere, if you need to get back to the boys."
