It didn’t take long for Nova’s magic to sparkle to the surface, golden strands of energy that coalesced into a small gold orb. When her friend stepped forward to press a hand against Soh’s chest, she couldn’t help but focus on her own heartbeat, the steady ba-dump grounding her, and when Nova pulled away to reveal the perfect pendant necklace, Soh nodded her head in approval. She could feel the heartbeat within from here, her equine senses tuned into such small cadences.
