It is nice, so much so that when Melita’s question and Iskra’s addition hit him he huffs a laugh – snagging one of the Blue Torchers from a nearby tray that passes by. “Nah, I don’t really celebrate my birthday anymore.” He says rather than what he thinks to be the sadder reasoning – the fact that there might be a grand total of like, three people willingly there. The two standing beside him taking up the majority – because while she hadn’t given a reason, this was his birthday season. Toward the end of the month, of course, when he turns a grand ol’ thirty-seven.
He takes a sip from the drink in his hand with some semblance of surprise to actually feel the strength of it. Wincing and opting maybe to try and drown a bunch of them as the tension in the room grows a little heavy, Sunjata’s gaze flits around the party to pinpoint Colt at the center of Flora’s current orbit with the tall Ancient heading her way.
Given that they haven’t really made up from their original falling out, Sunjata doesn’t do much to help. If anything, he tries to grow a bit more invisible which is difficult to do at his height in such a vibrant party, but he does stick to himself – something Iskra might be able to suss out while he’s scanning him for any anxieties. (Don’t worry Iskra, there’s a lot of them right now).
