Let's make tonight the weekend, I don't wanna wait
The animated way Kaisel is speaking to Nikandr and the dizzying antics of his thoughts to make peace with the fact that he might have just had a vision of Niki’s impending doom have thoroughly derailed all intents to party. The drinks are helping realign him, but he leaves the necromancer’s side to keep the Niki Flora breakaway timeline intact go get something to help. Kaisel vanishes from the main party floor for a time.
When he returns, arms laden with a fresh drink and a bundle of sage, although it’s to Niki he means to return to, his eyes gradually turn to find her. It’s an unconscious act whenever they’re in a shared space, stealing glances like he might be able to sneak moments away with just her, without her even knowing. Especially this day, when he expects she should be so wrapped in affection that she wouldn’t even need to walk, she could just float like a little golden cloud through the room.
That isn’t the sight he sees when he finds her. Instead, there’s a sharpness to the conversation she’s steeped in, and two different blondes hurry off in opposite directions. Astaroth ‘s shadow puppets look a little too long for comfort, and Mateo wears the face of someone who has tried to hold together something moving too quick. Sohalia slinks away, and Kaisel’s mouth pops open in a quiet wonder of what’d I miss as Flora pursues her.
Pressing his lips into a thin line of disapproval for the current state of things, he fills the space where Flora had just been, tilting his goods into one arm, (at the loss of half his drink, regrettably), to fire off a question on their parchment. Although he doesn’t suspect she’s got much time to listen to it, so he instead asks Mateo and Astaroth both, ”the hell just happened?” as he pockets the paper back in his shorts.
