"You would be quite right," Danta says through a soft huff, though he can't commit to theatrical annoyance with Asta's fingers sneaking towards his nape. His head tips forward automatically, eyes closing as if to better focus on the soft touch by denying his other senses the opportunity to distract him. "I wonder if a yeti would be interested in us after we were statues," he says slowly, unintentionally mirroring Asta's train of thought. "Are they violent for fun, or just for food?"
The key question - are they even real? - of course hasn't so much as occured to him in the scenario.
"I wouldn't," he objects through a scoff of laughter, blinking back up at the butcher at last. "Let me rephrase. I wouldn't if it was in the Tundra. If you can convince a yeti to track us across a nice, tropical stretch of beach in Torchline, then fine. I could be persuaded."
Feeling Asta's fingers tighten in his hair, Danta is tilting his chin up even before the kiss lands against his mouth, and he melts into it automatically. His hand leaves the other man's chest to clasp his jaw, like he can keep him there even after their lungs start burning for breath. It's a sudden shriek of thunder that has him parting in the end, the Maverick flinching despite himself at how close it sounds. "Gods, that's obnoxious when you aren't expecting it," he mumbles.
