The honesty was appreciated, and he was grateful for the buffer he'd placed between himself and the answer she gave. It didn't hit as hard, glancing off the gaping hole Kai had managed to dig out with such little effort. Reckless words or intentional insult, one thing remained true.
"He never apologized," Zavien whispered.
