Amused and somewhat put off by the way Danta doesn’t rise to the obvious bait, it’s there and gone in an instant as the Maverick buries his face into his neck, allowing him to double down on his affections on the nape of his neck. “Mhmm,” Asta purrs to the insistence, a soft little laugh escaping him as he settles in to offer those little sweet nothings, knowing that Danta would be helpless after, especially with the fire blooming through his fingers against warm skin.

He makes room for him to nestle in closer, warm and indulgent despite the rain that patters against the window and the scream rain that keeps trying to detract from the moment they have. “Dare I say that a nice long nap curled up with you would be one additional highlight of my evening?” He raises his brow, withdrawing from the affections so he can bully them under the blankets and dispel the fire, so he doesn’t set the bedding aflame.

Only then does he nestle Danta in, putting up his glamour so that he doesn’t scratch their headboard, tucking Danta in against his neck and chest again, corralling him in to give him all of the attention and affections it’ll take for him to fall asleep,, because the butcher isn’t that far behind him.
