"No," she agrees, straightening a bit, holding out the towel for Mel to take. "He didn't. He just happened to be the closest place to put it all." Shame thickens some of her throat, and she falls quiet for a beat. Colt is aware she can come down sudden and hard, that she pushes when things get bad, because that's better than letting anyone see her actually hurt.
