Soh leaned into Flora without even thinking about it, offering silent support. She remembered those days, the ones where leadership and life seemed to lay heavily across her shoulders, doing their best to drown her in their depths. The days where noon came both too soon and too late, where she could hardly see the forest for the trees, where everything felt bigger than it was. And with very few people with whom to share the burden, she was certain - even without knowing what was wrong - that Flora needed the break of their spa day.
Even if Soh was going to add to her burdens soon enough.
Shaking off the thought, the Luminary led the way to their private room, waiting until the door snicked shut behind them to invite whatever Flora wanted to share. Her instincts were quickly rewarded; Flora tumbled into an explanation that confirmed every bit of what Soh had been thinking. She waited patiently for it all to come out, listening without judgment or even a raised eyebrow. When Flora was done, Soh crossed the room simply to pour Flora a glass of her favorite wine and return to her friend's side.
"You're carrying a lot, and most of it by yourself," she commented as she handed over the glass. "I know you have Ronin, but life with two newborns -" Her expression caught somewhere between a wry smile and a small frown, her fingers twitching as she resisted the urge to press a hand to her own stomach. "- changes everything." She didn't even have her newborn yet, and already her life was irrevocably changed. She couldn't imagine trying to help run a region, even to contribute in a small way, while dealing with two of them.
So while she might once have offered assistance, she paused for a beat instead, wrapping her mind around everything Flora had said. "I would argue the merits of Jack not being here, but I don't think that plays into 'relaxing spa day' very well," she said after a moment. "So all I'll say instead is this: you don't have to do everything alone. You have people who love you and want to help, whether that's in an official capacity like Ronin, or something quieter." Reaching for Flora's hand, she squeezed once before dropping her friend's jeweled fingers.
"So, for now, we're going to pretend you're not the Queen of Torchline, and we're just going to be two besties enjoying a spa day. We can gossip and eat snacks and get massages and whatever else you want. I've booked the whole afternoon, so we're not in any rush."
