He might not have persisted any further, had he not spotted Amhran – hellhound eyes widening briefly before following immediately, that age-old protective means brewing in his blood and a thousand other questions tilting the scales. Only after a brief roll of strides and limbs did he appear close to the Raeling with a brief bark; nose to the air as he contemplated a hoard of sounds, then sights, constantly on the lookout.
