Since Soh didn't know what to expect of this particular test (and neither do I because what are magical ultrasounds?), she wasn't sure how long it would take, but she would hazard a guess that it would indeed not be long before they found out if she was right. The thought made her want to laugh, the whole thing equally exciting and absurd. If anyone had asked her a few seasons ago if she'd be sitting here like this, she'd have thought them mad - and yet, here she was, and all the happier for it.
A tiny Zavien would be, in Soh's mind, exactly as her boyfriend described himself: a small whirlwind of energy that couldn't sit still and wouldn't be contained. She wasn't sure what she thought a daughter would be like. "I was a quiet child," she remembered, tilting her head to one side as she thought. "I wonder if the baby will be more of a mix of us, instead of favoring one or the other?" Not that it really mattered. She would love them the same regardless.
At that moment, her name was called, and she popped up off the couch as though she weren't pregnant, blond hair bouncing around her shoulders as she looked excitedly to Zavien. "It's time," she whispered, awestruck and eager. She followed the nurse to a private room and was promptly treated to the seemingly endless questions about how she'd been feeling, how she'd been eating, if she had any concerns, and so on. Then the nurse left them, informing them that a doctor would be in to speak with them shortly.
