To Flora’s question, Asta frowns and nods with a slow hum. “I thought it was a possible one off chance as well.” He starts off, agreement lingering in his tone as he twists the glass in his hand. “However, Dygra implied that it would bring chaos to embrace but that it would bring complications as well.” Which was vague and cryptic, and if she was wishing to have a demigod in her arsenal against something that would overstep bounds that were otherwise often received by the goddess of entropy herself, he figures it’s a good enough reasoning as any.

To her own quiet excitement and attention, the Butcher can’t hide the twitch of his grin – brighter and easier, looser with the liquor that thrums like a flame through his veins. “Likewise, darling.” He purrs back to her, his tail flicking behind him in emphasis of the new abilities that would be at their disposal. For now, though, unfortunately all the Butcher can provide for the shock and awe is the green flame, unless he wishes to prematurely use his revivify feather.

The grin widens as he leans in toward her and she laughs and winks, telling him it’s a date. “Lovely.” It wouldn’t be the first time that they’d gone toe to toe in the past, and while it seemed like they would be on more even footing this time, if there was another demigod around that Asta would want to practice and train with, Flora is the only choice for him.

Laughter blooms from the Butcher’s lips, low and deep and knowing as he inclines his head toward her with a wink. “Yes, but, imagine it kicked up two – or ten – notches.” He raises a brow with bated breath as if waiting for her to imagine it firsthand.

But to hear about Kaisel’s reaction, Asta’s captivated by the ease and helpless smile that blossoms across her face. It’s like she comes to life, all excitement and illuminance, and ultimately so reflective of the Butcher’s smile that he aims back at her. “Ah yes, well, did they not have a terrible time with it all?” He asks, having heard the rumors that had occurred but without any first-hand experience to bolster it. “Shame that they would blanket you in the same disapproval they had for themselves.” He clicks his tongue, lifting the glass of whiskey back to his lips to take a slow sip – and it’s good that he does, because when she mentions Kaisel had channeled her, his gaze flits back at her with the sharp lift of his brows. “Oh my gods, I forgot that I could be channeled.

His voice drops into a low groan of dramatics, the glass sat down on the bar to let his hand rub at his face, wondering what kind of bullshit Kaisel might channel him into. But, because he can’t help himself, his fingers split and he peers over at Flora between them. “What was it like?
