Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

If Remi had better self-awareness as a man, it was suggested, he might have better control over himself as a lion. That was the plan anyways. If he could be injured and not allow himself to shift that would be the first step in controlling this new aspect of himself, and would go along way in reassuring his mind that he could be around those he loved without being a potential risk.
And he had Isla's sedatives of course, which he would give to Ronin before the training session began, just in case. Though with the arsenal that the captain had at his command, it would probably be easier to just knock Remi out as he had done before than messing about trying to get a needle into him.
Leaning against the rag-tag wall that Ronin had tried to restore when they'd first arrived, Remi looked like a comical version of a thug trying to look tough. He wasn't of course (trying to look tough that was), but with a blade of grass between his lips, his arms crossed against his chest, and one foot errantly kicking at a stone, he did rather look like a poor representation of someone much more intimidating.
