The Dreamhollow is barely more than motion and ruin now, held together by cracked hide, glowing ribs, and spite. Colt 's arrow cuts across the pale distance, clean and fast, but the world around the creature shivers at the wrong moment. The shot passes through the warped edge of its outline instead of flesh, disappearing into the heat-hazed desert beyond.
Kaisel 's chakram follows, and for a heartbeat, the Dreamhollow seems to see it. Too many eyes turn at once, catching the flash of metal as it spins through the air, but its body is too broken to answer quickly enough. It tries to fold sideways into shimmer, tries to make the distance lie again, but there isn't enough of it left to vanish. The chakram hits clean, slicing through the Dreamhollow's narrow neck in a perfect, brutal arc, passing through cracked hide, root-spurs, and trapped dreamlight before curving away to return to Kaisel's waiting hand.
There is no blood; the creature's head does not fall; its body does not collapse. Instead, the Dreamhollow comes apart all at once. The shape of it loosens, its many eyes dulling as its outline breaks into streams of pale, dry sand. Its shadow snaps soundlessly across the ground, jaws opening one final time before thinning into nothing. The glowing ribs crumble inward; the root-spurs scatter; the long limbs dissolve where they stand, falling away like sand gathered in the corner of an eye after sleep.
By the time Liam 's bolt and Nova 's magic reach the place where it had been, there is nothing solid left to strike.
For a moment, the desert is still, then the wind moves through the wrecked caravan again, shifting canvas, stirring broken cactus flesh, and revealing something half-buried where the Dreamhollow vanished: a small pouch, worn and dry, filled with strange sand that glimmers faintly when the light catches it.
