She nodded, accepting the necessities, the trepidation drawing in quickly when reality kept trickling it further and deeper into her mind. Ludo gone. A deity she, and many others, relied upon. A herald that had given her opportunity after opportunity. So, maybe she could do the same for it – step by step, aiming to salvage and pluck and ensure the god was just fine.
Of course, then came her initial request. For some reason, for all of Mort’s gentleness, she thought he might disprove of the ideas of cannons and blowing things up. In the end, however, he’d taken a different turn – and she swallowed down the uncomfortable thoughts of not only speaking to Safrin, but doing something out of kindness and thoughtfulness. Gods.
“Can do!” she chirped with a modest salute that didn’t quite reach her soul. “I’ll leave you be and report back when I can! Thank you!” Because ultimately there would be a lot more on her mind other than strange glows in the Oerwoud and bizarre dreams; and somehow the semblance of all her gifts for Ludo, vacant and untouched, felt horrendous.
