After seeing so much magic at her disposal, he couldn't help the shock that jolted through his body, half expecting her to unintentionally blast him off his feet; but her touch was calm and steady, listening. He swore he could feel his heartbeat responding, pressing back against her hand and out into a string of golden light.
Zavien glanced at Soh, sharing a look of amazement as Nova manipulated the magic with ease. By the time he glanced down again, she was already done, presenting Soh with the gold pendant that was so identical to his own that he had to verify she hadn't taken it from his neck.
In a different flurry of gold, Sol returned with a sack of scales dangling in his jaws. They clicked softly together when he landed in front of Nova, the wag of his tail giving his blessing in thanks for helping his bonded. Smiling, Zavien said aloud again, "Thank you, Nova."
