By the time Asta comes back into view, her expression is already shifting from pleased curiosity into something far more sympathetic as she takes in the look on his face. The laugh that slips out of her is bright, but not at him; it is recognition, the particular relief of discovering she has not simply been dramatic about how horrible the whole thing feels. "I know, right?" she says, wrinkling her nose as she sets the glass down behind her.
For all that she had been eager to try it, there is something sobering about seeing the effect of it from the outside. One second he had been in the bar and the next, he'd been standing in front of her with no warning and barely enough time to take the drink before the magic sent him back again. Flora’s smile softens at the edges as she looks up at him, her fingers brushing absently against the lip of the bar. Her concern gives way to a crooked sort of warmth, because she can feel herself beginning to take the whole thing too seriously and that simply will not do before breakfast. With a small shrug, Flora tips her head back to meet his eyes.
"I promise not to channel you unless I can be sure you get to kill something," she says, affectionately. "How’s that?" Before he can offer a ruling on the arrangement, Flora steps away from the outdoor bar and crosses the small distance between them, slipping her arm through his as naturally as if they had already been on their way somewhere together. The morning is still soft around them, brightening by degrees over the pool and the surrounding greenery, and she gives his arm a little squeeze as she turns them toward the house.
"Come on," she says, looking up at him with a grin. "Let’s get breakfast started. I’m sure the smell of bacon will have Danta and Kai rolling out of bed."
