As Finch goes down, flaming and excruciating pain radiating from the very sensitive spot Calan just hammered him in, he manages to be impressed through the unbearable sensation. If the other little rat managed to wiggle his way into Finch's pockets, he certainly didn't notice, too busy trying to remember how to breathe and wondering if he was still alive. Carlo could be tap-dancing behind him for all he knew, and he'd be too occupied to notice. Well. At least they took his advice about a more effective distraction.

He slumps against the wall, breathing heavily, face drawn and pale. It wasn't the worst he'd ever been hit on a job, not by far, but something about getting kicked in the nethers made you think it was the worst pain you've ever been in in your life, every time. "That was good," He wheezes between gritted teeth. Was he dying? He might be dying. "Effective." He maneuvers a hand into his pocket, finding it blessedly empty of candy. Was it worth this trouble? (Yes. Being right was always worth it).

"It's a good distraction," Finch continues, as if he wasn't hunched over on the ground trying to remember how to stand up, as if this was the plan the whole time. "It only works if you're alone with them, though. Otherwise you either have to have a really good excuse, or you gotta be ready to book it 'fore people come looking. If you wait around to see if your target's gonna notice their stuff missing, you've already been caught." He levels a look at Calan and Carlo (or Carlo and Calan? Did they swap spots when he wasn't looking? There had been four of them there, for a moment, but now they're back to two).

He hobbles to his feet, leaning on the wall for support. Pulling out a shiny coin, he sends it tumbling over his quick fingers, a simple magician's trick before disappearing it into the same pocket the candy had lurked in. "Try it again, without the physical violence this time. If I catch you, I'll break your wrist. If not?" He shrugs. "I'll let you keep the candy." Could he take it again from the two feral gremlins he'd run into? Probably not, but hopefully the adventure of the challenge stops them from thinking about that too hard. There was something here, something he wanted to test. His curiosity had been piqued, and Finch was the kind of thief who liked to push his luck. Should he run away while he's largely unharmed? Probably. Will he? No.
