Liam laughed lightly at Zavien's apology. "No, no - it's good to be on the receiving end. Guess I'm slowing down in my old age." That, and the fact that he'd switched professions, meant that perhaps he wasn't as capable with a sword as he used to be. He'd have to train harder, if he meant to survive in the desert - and he very much meant to thrive there. Still, it wasn't going to be an easy task to tame the wilds, by any stretch of the imagination.

Blocking the ensuing blow, Liam twisted away from his Oakblade, growing more used to the Starblade as time passed. Steel on steel clashed briefly, Liam's momentum carried him to one side as he struck out at Zavien again, aiming for the other man's shoulder with a blow that might have been devastating with his Oakblade, but was rather average with a normal sword.
