Okay, so perhaps 'old' was a bit overdramatic, but Liam grinned all the same at Zavien's protest. "You try starting a new profession that requires getting up and down all the time and see if your knees don't start to complain." Carpentry was something that Liam was really enjoying, but gods was it taking a toll on his aging body. He just wasn't as young as he used to be, despite staying in good shape.

Blades clashed, ringing through the Barrows as steel flashed in the light. This time, rather than a simple parry, Zavien changed tactics, digging in and pushing back against Liam's blow. While the ex-soldier wasn't exactly prepared for the move, muscle memory took over, allowing him to stand his ground without stumbling back. Still, he had no desire to get into a contest of strength; instead of waiting to see who could overpower the other, he darted to one side and swung again towards Zavien's opposite side.
