"I couldn't agree more!" It's unclear whether the hedges are getting closer or whether it's just Zavien's eyes playing tricks on him, but he really doesn't want to find out. Plants might not be able to speak, but this network of spiky leaves are practically screaming at them to get out like some horror film. He half expects one of them to vanish beneath the water when the other isn't looking.
Kai talks enough to reassure him the man hasn't been eaten by the maze (yet), but he spares a glance just to be sure, and once he sees the mud-splattered face, Zavien nods to the opening Sol has been nagging them about. "Here!" At least he thinks so...
He trusts Sol, but when he steps through and his eyes scan, he's finding it very hard to spot anything other than muddy water and soppy plants. "Where is it?" he mutters, spinning around in a systematic sweep of the clearing. His sword casts an eerie glow that lengthens shadows into threats, only urging him to move faster.
Finally, a few golden leaves peak from beneath the water in the middle, only visible between the ripples of their movements. "Come on!" Zavien wades through the water to grab at the plant, snapping off pieces to hand Kai while he prays that nothing takes this as an opportunity to lunge.
