Oblivious (somehow) to the tension brewing between Vesper and Colt as they go their separate ways, all hard glares and cold shoulders, Niki is content with his work; content and tired enough that he's even ignorant to the ire he draws from Safrin's son himself. Cooking goes easily and doesn't taste too bad in his opinion either, and once everyone has had their fill he ensures any leftovers are well covered and that the cookfire is left to a warm smoulder, then finally retires to his tent.
Sleeping outside goes exactly as expected for a man who has grown up sickly and with a leg that's uncooperative at best, and as the first fingers of dawn illuminate the Barrows, the necromancer is already awake because he hasn't really rested. Not a morning person besides, he's quiet as he ghosts through the camp to collect coffee and breakfast, soon climbing stiffly back into the wagon to sift through the maps again.
"It should not be too far from here to Mourn," he says, voice still rough with sleep he hasn't gotten. "The ground should even out at that point - much harder to get lost, I would hope."
