Her nose wrinkles as she laughs, because returning to the same booth twice would feel almost unimaginative when all of Torchline lies open around them now. There are alleys, beaches, fountains, boltholes, and any number of locked doors waiting to prove whether they are as sturdy as the first.
The prospect of Halo wipes the amusement from her expression almost immediately. She wrinkles her nose again, this time with genuine distaste, and gives a decisive shake of her head. Her gaze lifts to Jack, fully aware that having a legitimate reason to approach her and being safe from the Captain’s temper are two very different things.
